Everybody seems to be doing well right now… taking the few days last week (wed-sat) much easier than planned has turned out to be a good decision. While there were only a couple people who really had me worried about ‘going over the edge’ a little, it has given everybody a chance to regroup/refresh. And whether they needed it or not physically, everybody is much more relaxed mentally now (in a good way). I’ve still got some hesitations about Rob/Devon’s hamstrings… Rob because I’m just not sure how open he’ll be with me about it hurting, and Devon because his comes/goes a little randomly (seems to be with more volume and longer reps that it is more likely to appear). Neither of them spoke of ANY pain yesterday, so we’ll go ahead and do the workout today with them (we have been backed off 10 days w/Rob and 8 days w/Devon). The 3x300m today is also set up to be progressively faster, so if they feel anything, it will not be at a really high end speed for them.

After today, I’m having them go into our planned rest cycle over thanksgiving break.

Wed – real general, recovery day

Thu – off or AYF

Fri – real general, recovery day

Sat – a little bit of ‘structured’ running (sprinters: 10x100m @20, 10x100m @18 w/equal rest; MD – Fig 8/tempo/Fig. 8)

Sun – off

The following week we have our first meet at Clemson. Still trying to decide if I want to use it as a workout (i.e. have a few more people ‘double’ in events), or if I’d rather compete in fewer events… Since this is a new group and I’m not sure how much they invest into their races, so just wanna be cautious of that.
