Summer Brown Thankful For Support As She Begins Treatment For Lymphoma

By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor

Summer Brown, a former Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference champion at Bethune-Cookman, said she is thankful for the kind thoughts and prayers she has received since she started chemotherapy last week.

Brown, a 2012 Deer Valley AZ graduate, discovered that she had a tumor in her leg after several misdiagnoses. She found out she had Stage 4 lymphoma two days after Christmas, according to Dan Ryan's story at bcuathletics.com.

Brown, who last competed in 2016, said that she is in good condition and remains hopeful that she can beat the cancer.

We send our best wishes, along with those of many others in the Bethune-Cookman family.
